The Shining Wizard #5: Dragon Gate USA's Open the Northern Gate and Timeline: The History of ECW 1997 with Sabu

For the last few years, I thought that Dragon Gate was the best wrestling promotion in terms of wrestling quality. That may still be true, but I'm not sure. If I was to use the Open the Northern Gate DVD of their U.S. offshoot, Dragon Gate USA, as a test to see if they are still at the top of their game, then I would have to say yes. No matter how good the wrestling is, no one can touch the WWE's video packages and theatrics. Dragon Gate USA is the best you will find on the independent circuit in that department though.

Man, Sabu surprised the hell out of me. His intelligence and attention to detail is better than most. In "Timeline: The History of ECW 1997 with Sabu," the insane high-flyer tells Kayfabe Commentaries' Sean Oliver all kinds of wicked stories and information about the ECW when it was hitting highs before it started bouncing checks.
